NOTW: OPI's Brisbane Bronze

I went for a foot spa with pedicure package at my favorite salon yesterday. And guess what? They gave me a FREE manicure. Doesn't free stuff make you happy?

NOTW: Sally Hansen's Night Flight

This a late NOTW post. This was last my weeks nail color. I also used the Sally Hansen 2in1 top and base coat. It really helped my polish to stay longer.

Which Foundation Formula Should You Be Using?

Cream, powder, liquid, tinted moisturizer, oil-free, firming?

I took a foundation quiz at Totalbeauty.com I got curious what will it recommend. I'm currently swtiching up 4 liquid foundations (MUFE HD, MAC Studio Fix, Revlon PhotoReady, and LM Tinted Moisturizer). And I'm still lemming for Nars Sheerglow (haha).

Here's my result:

The best formula for you is an oil-free liquid or cream-to-powder foundation

Why: "It's tricky to find foundation for acne-prone skin since you want your skin to breathe, but still need heavy coverage in certain areas," says Barose. So, since "acne-prone skin is usually oily, use oil-free formulas to prevent breakouts," says Stiles.

Products to try: For light/medium coverage try Clinique Stay-True Makeup Oil-Free Formula, $21 or Bobbi Brown Oil-Free Even Finish Foundation SPF 15, $42. To cover up blemishes, acne scars, etc. opt for an oil-free cream-to-powder foundation like Benefit Some Kind-A Gorgeous, $28 -- its oil-free, sheer texture can be built and layered for heavier coverage, says Barose. For best results, use it with a sponge and add heavier concealer on areas that need even more coverage.

Tip: "Really pay attention to your skin care program. Use toner with salicylic acid to keep pores clean, and a light, oil-free moisturizer. Or skip moisturizer all together," says Stiles. She also recommends using a concealer that has salicylic acid in it to "aid in clearing your skin while covering spots," she says.

I say:

Eversince I started wearing liquid foundations, my skin broke out badly. It is true once you learn using foundations and concealers, there's no going back. Don't get me wrong, I do not regret wearing makeup, in fact, I enjoy it. It's just that now I invest more on my skincare than I used to. That's why since I tried The Body Shop Tea Tree line, I stuck with it. I still get breakouts here and there due to stress and lack of sleep but the TBS Tea Tree line is my HG skincare right now.

For the foundations recommended, I'll definitely try first the Benefit Some Kind-A-Gorgeous because there trial sizes sold online. For the Clinique Stay-True Makeup Oil Free, I would maybe in a month or two because I have to rest my foundation-spree for now. For the Bobbi Brown Oil-Free Even Finish, hmmm I will give a lot of thought to it because $44 is not cheap at least for me. haha!

Any of you tried the recommended foundations for me?I would love to know your experience.

Keyword for my skin from this site: OIL-FREE

Thanks!

Haul # 1: Mixed stuff

I was planning on buying the coveted NARS Sheerglow today because I couldn't take the rave about it anymore. I have not read a blog nor watched a You Tube video that the guru/blogger is saying bad things about such foundation. What's holding me back? Mainly the price, second my conscience is telling me that I still haven't finish my MUFE HD Foundation and my MAC Studio Fix Fluid. I shooo off my conscience and went on ahead to Rustan's Gateway. Armed with my P2,500 budget, I was determined to get out of the store with my new foundation. I thought so.... The rep told me they only have light shades, I have to go to a different branch which I am lazy to do so. Until, I ended up with this haul....

First stop, I went to Landmark to pick up a Sally Hansen Insta-Dri nail polish because I'm interested with the flat brush applicator because I suck at painting my nails. The rep offered their Double Duty Strengthening Base & Top Coat and I needed it so I picked that up too. Until... I stopped by the Revlon Counter, I spotted the PhotoReady  Foundation. I know it's been out for a long time but hear me out why the late purchase. I first spotted the dark caramelly shades and I gasp! Finally they brought the whole shades. I've been wanting this foundation for a long but here in the Philippines, the darkest shade that they had was Medium Beige which is too light for me. I asked the rep for Golden Beige and viola! Tried and tested and found my match! I will throw my 2 cents on this, I need to try this for a week at least, to give my full review on it even if it's so late now.
