How Do I Store My Makeup?

Ever since me and my son temporarily moved back to my parents house, I needed to make some adjustments since I've been out of their house for 5 years. One of those was "space". My eldest sister was kind enough being the ate that she is to lend her room to me and my son. Her room is big enough for one person but since our stuff mixed with her stuff, the room became smaller. I needed to fit our stuff without getting in the way. I needed to fit my makeup in a small space because I cannot occupy the whole dresser. So here's what I found on my frequent trips to the Daiso and department store. You will notice the main color is blue because I don't want my little guy to see a lot of pinks. It's bad enough he sees my makeup so I keep it on the low down.
This my so-called "beauty tower"

FOTD: Drugstore and mini-review

I started using makeup 7 years ago when I got my first job. I remember I only had a Ponds compact foundation and a Maybelline lipstick. I will use my lipstick as a blush as my mom thought me. lol. That's it and I was happy with that. Two years ago, I got hooked on Maybelline cosmetics and that's all I used until You Tube came a year later then discovered beauty bloggers. My eyes was open up to high-end makeup. But no matter how I'm enjoying high -end makeup, I still miss and go back to drugstore makeup. Mainly because the price is cheaper and it works for me.

Battle of the Pink Lips

Maybelline Color Sensational in Warm Me Up and Born With It; MAC's Angel, Pink Nouveau, and Gaga
Either some girls love nudes or pinks or even both. I'm the typical girl that loves pink lipstick because I still cannot carry nude lips without looking dead. I think I need more practice with smokey-eyes inorder to pull-off nudie doodie. :P

My lemmings @ Apothica

I love makeup and I would love to try a lot of them but one of the things that frustrates me is that I don't have access to most of the great brands. Simply because they are not available locally. So when I saw Catanya's giveaway, I checked out Apothica's site right away. I would love to try Too Faced products because I heard a lot of great reviews on them and their packaging is too cute to resist. :P

Review and FOTD: Stila Pretty in Paris Palette

This is the second travel palette from Stila. If you missed my review on the first travel palette, just click here. Most of the things that I will tell you about this second palette is almost the same as the first palette. All of the eyeshadows and convertible lip and cheek color are all new and limited edition according to Stila.

Rewiew: The Body Shop Body Scrubs

In my "old" age I just recently found out about the benefits of body scrubs. Honestly, I became more aware of it when I joined the Love Your Body membership of The Body Shop. I enjoy talking to their reps because they know a lot about their products and it's benefits without feeling the pressure of buying it. lol. Exfoliating removes the dead skin of the body. It helps in rejuvenating the skin by exposing the smoother and supple layer of skin.Sounds good right? There are a lot of body scrubs out in the market and these two are my first body scrubs. You can actually make your own body scrubs from scratch. As pinkiecharm would always say, "make google your bff". Very true, hahaha. Well most women are on-the-go so I prefer mine pre-made. ;)

DollFace Workshop and Askmewhats

I went to the DollFace Cosmetics workshop today at Eastwood Events Factory. We were like 40+ in the class. It was full but it was comfy. Of course, my most awaited part is not actually the workshop. :P It was meeting Nikki of Askmewhats. When she came in front, I think I saw an angel. =) Seriously yes, because she's flawless. She is soft-spoken but her whole talk was not boring. In fact, she was really funny and makes sure that everybody is comfortable in their seats. Which I think is sweet considering she's one of the top Filipino blogger and a great makeup artist too. I'm so happy I met her. I always love meeting people who have a positive aura. It's contagious. Positive people hit me and inspire me that to be beautiful on the outside, you gotta be beautiful in the inside. And I think it's cute that her hubby supports her by being there and the official photographer. Okay I think I'm gonna cry now because I'm starting to miss my husband. hahaha. :P I truly enjoyed the workshop because I learned a lot and Nikki gave useful tips too. I can't wait to attend another workshop. By the way, here's my  FOTD:

Visit FunnyFace Beauty's blog to know the details of this amazing giveaway. It will end on Oct 10th. I am excited about the Naked palette. Goodluck to all!

Haul #9: Limited Edition

I finally got my hands on these babies. When this was released here, it was sold out quickly even before they hit the MAC stores. So I'm one of the unlucky ones that didn't get it. When I saw these the other day at The Glamorous Sisters' store, I immediately bought it before these escape again (lol).

Review: Pond's Activated Carbon Facial Wash

I was passing by Watson's 3 mos ago when this facial wash caught my eye because of the black tube packaging. I haven't seen the ads on this at that time. So when I saw it, it says "Ponds", I'm like, say what? I  asked myself, is somebody copying Ponds and disguising in that black packaging? hahaha. I was used to their pink and white packaging. Intrigued as I was, I didn't buy it. Why? I was suffering from blemishes at that time and I was not interested in any whitening stuff. I was just starting out with my TBS Tea Tree Skincare and it was going well so I didn't want to interrupt it by introducing another facial wash.

Review and FOTD: Stila Road To Radiance USA Palette

If you read my post about my OMG Haul, I mentioned that I read Temptalia's review on the Stila's Road to Radiance palette and how she hated the eyeshadows and loves the convertible lip and cheek color. Of course, she was right. I knew it because she's an expert in reviewing makeup but I still went ahead and bought the palette. I am not saying I hate the palette, in fact, I'm in love with it and I can't wait till the other palettes arrive here.

Review: Benefit lippies

I recently get to try 2 Benefit lipsticks and a lipgloss. I got these minis from their Celebutante kit which was released last year.  I love how the lipsticks are creamy, non-drying, highly pigmented and lasts a long time. I can wear it all by itself without finishing it with a lipgloss. For the lipgloss, it’s not sticky, highly pigmented as well, and it smells good. Unfortunately, Benefit Cosmetics is not sold here in the Philippines. We can only purchase it through online sellers. I actually sent an email to their company requesting if they could bring their amazing products here. I was impressed on their speedy response. They said they will keep in mind my request and hopefully bring their products here in the near future. I hope they do. =)

The Body Shop Autumn Trend

Last week I attended the free makeup workshop by The Body Shop where they launched their new Autumn Trend makeup line. We were taught how to do the “smokey eyes”.  One thing I couldn’t do and is scared to do. :P It seems silly but black eyeshadows and black eyeliners give me the chills. I feel that I could easily go wrong with it and end up looking like I’ve been punched in the eyes (lol). I never pass up on FREE makeup workshop because I think that it’s a great opportunity to learn something new. I had a lot of fun. The Body Shop did not disappoint me. The MUA thought how us to cleanse, tone, and moisturize. We were able to use exclusive The Body Shop’s skincare and makeup.

Finally claimed my prize ^_^

Thank you Liz of Project Vanity and Asian Secrets. I went to Starcomm Media today and the people there are so nice. I'm excited to try the lulur whitening scrub. I will be giving the other tub to my son's nanny because she's also morena like me. I will posting our review soon and share our experience with lulur whitening scrub. Thank you so much!

Haul #8: Ebay and my favorite Power Seller

I love getting stuff from the mail. It feels like my birthday or Christmas when I open the package. Ebay for me is a place for hard to find items at a cheaper price. I usually buy my stuff from power sellers or sellers with at least 10 feedbacks to ensure authenticity of the item and great service. I too, sometimes is a seller and I always treat every customer special be it small purchase or not. So I expect the same treatment. I recently bought makeup from 5 different sellers, 4 from Ebay and 1 from Multiply. I am here to share with you my great experience and my favorite Ebay power seller.

Disclaimer first, all of the products here are purchased by my own money and these sellers did not know that I will feature them in my blog. I just feel that since I experienced 5 stars service and got all of the stuff for a bargain price, they deserve some love. Anyway....

Haul #7: OMG Haul

Yup. You read it right. This is my "Oh my God" haul. :P I went to the mall with my sister today not intending to buy or even expect to find this two because I'm saving up my money for MAC's Fabulous Felines. Our country is probably  the most behind on current US cosmetics releases. When everybody else already raved about it and already moved on, we are just here waiting for it to come. Sadly sometimes, we don't have access to great brands like Urban Decay, Korres, Benefit, etc. We, or at least I end up hunting online sellers. Well, it's not always the downside. The advantage that we get from this is that after tons of review, then we get the chance to decide if we're really going for the product or not. Positivity there. ;D So enough of the babbling here's my "OMG Haul".

I first went to Watson's (land of the drugstore makeup here) to checkout the items that Liz of Project Vanity featured on her blog about the "Top 7 best finds in Watsons".  Then I went to CoverGirl and then bam! I saw a purple tube mascara and I said, "Oh my God" it's finally here. One of the most talked about drugstore mascara in You Tube. It's the CoverGirl Lashblast Fusion, volume+length mascara. The rep told me they just released it last week. Coincidentally this morning, I was taking a picture of my CoverGirl Lashblast Volume mascara because I'm planning to put it up here in my blog for review since I fully used it and it's ready to be thrown out.

Somehow my camera decided to make it look like blue. It's purple in person, I promise. =)

A Beautiful Sunday Morning

I usually check my emails when I get up in the morning. To my surprise, I received an email from Liz of Project Vanity and the title of the email was, "You won Asian Secrets". I felt my heart jumped. I was one of the lucky winners that were randomly picked commenters that will receive two bottles of Asian Secrets. This is the first contest that I won in my entire life. Oh yeah it's true! I will be posting another blog related to this, once I claim my prize and will surely share with you my experience with Asian Secrets lulur whitening body scrub. Thank you so much Liz and Asian Secrets!

I'm off to go to church. I hope everyone's having a great weekend.

New from The Body Shop

Photo credits to Beaute Runway's blog

I got an email yesterday from The Body Shop because they recently launched their Eco-conscious Rainforest Haircare. If you're a Love Your Body member, you can grab your FREE sample 60ml Rainforest Conditioner by just presenting your LYB card and I actually received an SMS from them too about this promo. This is only valid from Sep 17-19. If you're not yet a member, the membership is only P300 plus you get a welcome gift from them which I think is equivalent or even more than price that you paid for the membership. Isn't that great? They also have a lot of promos and discounts exclusively for members. If you also become a Facebook Fan page, you will get recent updates and the schedule for the FREE makeup workshop. I recently attended the Autumn Trend makeup workshop and I had a lot of fun and got a lot of discounts and freebies. I will be posting them as soon as I get the pictures. So checkout The Body Shop stores the reps are very helpful and nice. =)

Review: MAC Studio Fix Fluid

I bought this last March and imagine my excitement when I went to the MAC counter and I pretended it’s a no biggie purchase for me where in fact, it is. :P This the first high-end foundation that I bought and I admit, me and MAC Studio Fix fluid have this love-hate relationship. :P I used to use Maybelline cosmetics line. It used to be my HG makeup. Then along came You Tube, watched faffinettex3’s videos and I love her, she uses this and as an avid fan, there I followed her recommendation. Do I like it? Yes and No. :P

This is the only one I am excited about and I'm thinking if I should go or not :P

Favorite: Coral Lip Combo

Coral lips have been my recent favorite lip combo because it makes my lips standout and my face brighter. I discovered this last month when I purchased Rimmel lipstick in crush and I top it off with Revlon’s Super Lustrous lipgloss in coral reef.

FOTD: Flipside

I am a neutral girl and I can't wear bold colors confidently. Today I tried this look by taking UD 24/7 eyeliner in flipside (teal blue) and paired it with Stila's eyeshadow in Kitten (champagney color) all-over the lid to brighten my eyes and balance the look.

Review: Makeup Forever HD Foundation

I bought this foundation in June at a MUFE store in Shangri-la. Honestly, I got it because of the You Tube hype. Plus I was going to attend a wedding and I know there will be a lot of photo ops. lol :P

According to MUFE's site, this foundation was originally created to keep the complexion of the actors looking flawless 6x magnification of high definition compared to regular cameras. It does not accentuate wrinkles leaving natural looking skin. Enriched with moisturizing agents so it leaves your skin soft and radiant. This new generation of textures leaves your close-up perfect, yet so natural it won't look like you're wearing makeup at all.

The Great Asian Secrets Giveaway: P40,000 worth of prizes!

This is my entry for a contest hosted by Liz of Project Vanity and Asian Secrets.

My version of Cynthia Vincent Shoes

I originally saw this pair of Cynthia Vincent shoes from faffinettex3's blog and then at lollilop26's blog. I really love how it looked. It's very pretty. I'm sure I cannot get it since I'm here in the Philippines. So I tried to find a close dupe to it. Here's the original version which retails at $29.90.

Review: MAC Pink on the Cheeks, Pink on the Lips Look

This is a review of MAC's Pinch O' Peach blush and MAC's Pink Nouveau lipstick. I tried this look today to see how it would come out. If it is ok to have pink cheeks and bright pink lips. There's a Barbie girl inside all of us girls I know. :)

Review: The Body Shop Tea Tree Skincare Line

Since I started using makeup, I have been breaking out badly and the skincare that I was using at that time was not working for me anymore. I have an acne-prone skin. I can get pimples easily by not getting enough sleep, if it's that time of the month, or if the weather is hot. I have an oily t-zone. I learned to invest more on my skincare now than makeup.

Review: The Balm Blushes

The Balm must be one of the amazing make up brand that has not been talked much about in the beauty community. I first found out about this product when I went to Beauty Bar at Gateway Mall. I was searching for a new blush and then bam! There I saw The Balm blushes. What first caught my eye was the vintage packaging. It's kinda like Benefit Cosmetics packaging. It's fun and out-of-the-box kinda thing.

My first blush was Cabana Boy. It's a plummy rose blush with subtle shimmers. When I say "shimmers" don't get freaked out. The shimmers is actually hardly noticeable. I must warn you that this blush is highly pigmented. When I first used this, I got excited that I swiped my brush and didn't even tap my brush and then I looked like a clown. lol. So use a light-hand application especially if you have a fair skin. It will work for everyone. Just build the color as you go. I think this is worth the buck considering it's about P850 ($1 x P45) and you get 8.5g of the product. The product is velvety, not chalky. So it's silky smooth when you apply it. It also works as an eyeshadow which I haven't tried. The only thing I don't like about this is the cardboard packaging. As cute as it is, I cannot carry it with me in my purse because I'm afraid I might dent it. I think this is a must have for your collection. The quality of the product is great and it will last you a long time.

Haul #5 Storage

This a storage haul. I went to Saizen and Japan Home. I do not have a vanity anymore since I left our apartment and lived with my parents again because my son and I will be joining the husband to the US soon. (yey!) So I have to make the most out of our space.

I will use this to separate my face and eye primers and concealers. So this...
To this!
